The impact you’ll make:

A Senior Security Architect is a highly seasoned, senior technologist with knowledge and skills that are both broad and deep. This person will provide leadership and guidance to help inform the organization’s security strategy in alignment with the company’s vision and goals. This person will be a leader within Architecture and Application Development practices as well as the broader IT organization. This role carries considerable influence within technical and business teams as well as senior leaders in the broader organization.

The Senior Security Architect is a strong listener and able to ensure that collated business and technology strategies are reflected in an architectural vision and design approach. These artifacts will guide software development teams and serve immediate and future business needs. This individual is technically and organizationally exceptional and will have a solid understanding of the global solutions landscape of all systems and applications to provide consulting and recommendations to product owners and leaders.

This individual will also partner with senior leaders across the organization in defining strategic roadmaps for migration of products, lines of business, and applications to the cloud. They bring deep expert knowledge about private, public and hybrid cloud architectures as well as networking, compliance and security, workload types, migration patterns and tools. This individual will help to define and enforce cloud design patterns, cloud operations and cloud cost models with hands-on ability to implement best practices or suggest improvements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates knowledge of one or more primary ABG business models, key drivers, systems, technologies and/or support systems
  • Manages, directs, and coordinates long-term strategic planning of application cloud architectures
  • Defines and implements a cloud security strategy by communicating with stakeholders via effective technical and process improvements
  • Defines requirements and security guardrails for ABG’s cloud DevSecOps processes, microservices and Kubernetes strategies, as well for the use of highly available and distributed secret stores.
  • Contributes to, and helps enforce ABG’s Cloud Governance Program for AWS and Azure
  • Works with ABG executive team, directors and managers to assess architectural needs and make recommendations on the appropriate cloud and on-premise infrastructure, data, and application technologies to support the business strategy
  • Provides consulting for projects, programs and initiatives in ABG in reference to architectural direction, security, compliance, and strategy
  • Consistently leads and influences broad, cross-functional teams, including IT and non-IT teams
  • Leads the definition of migration roadmaps for global applications, services, legacy systems, databases, etc.
  • Represents ABG on select architecture committees, steering groups, and task forces both internal and external to ABG

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, Information Systems, or Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years of IT experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience designing, developing, and implementing cloud/hybrid cloud solutions as an architect (discipline may vary)
  • Experience serving as a project architect or lead architect on at least 2 large scale, enterprise-wide projects
  • Considerable experience leading and working with multi-site and/or partner development teams
  • Security Certifications such as CISSP-ISSAP, AWS Security, or similar industry standard certifications

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Expert knowledge of Cloud methodologies (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), automation, orchestration in AWS/Azure
  • Strong knowledge of NIST, PCI, GDPR, and other related regulatory standards and designing solutions to meet such requirements
  • Ability to apply network security architecture concepts including topology, protocols, components, and principles (e.g., application of defense-in-depth)
  • Ability to apply cybersecurity and privacy principles to organizational requirements (relevant to confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, non-repudiation)
  • Coordinate with the company’s Information Security team to deliver secure and compliant solutions
  • Hands-on experience configuring AWS security services such as IAM, KMS, and CloudTrail etc.
  • Strong expertise in many areas of software architecture and technology, including as many of these technical domains as possible:
  • AWS/Azure

  • Defense in Depth strategies
  • Excellent knowledge of code build, testing and validation technologies, CI/CD concepts and implementations –including Concourse/Jenkins, Git, Terraform/Ansible/CloudFormation etc.
  • Excellent working knowledge of: Microsoft Visio, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and SharePoint
  • Exceptional analytical, logical reasoning and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Consistently uses time effectively and efficiently
  • Intellectually sharp, capable, and agile
  • Self-starter: able to initiate, prioritize, and complete assignments with little to no supervision
  • Eagerness and ability to learn and adapt technologies, industry practices, tools, and trends
