Area Sales Manager

GlenPharmer Distillery is an exciting craft brand boasting a robust portfolio of artisan spirits. GlenPharmer is also a unique destination offering a fully operational distillery with tours, tastings, private event spaces and a polished-casual dining experience in our Tasting Room/Restaurant. We are a true craft distillery, producing award-winning spirits in each of the five major spirit categories. We are seeking an enthusiastic, outgoing, organized, and competitive sales person to open doors, build relationships, drive sales growth, and manage inventory at liquor stores, restaurants, bars and hospitality venues in the metro-Boston and North Shore area of Massachusetts. GlenPharmer Sales Managers are self-motivated road warriors who enjoy meeting new people, sharing our brand story, and selling GlenPharmer’s super-premium, artisan spirits on a daily basis. All applicants should demonstrate an inherent passion for all things spirits and cocktails.

Essential Functions of GlenPharmer Regional Sales Managers:

  • Prospect for new business, create and manage a sales pipeline, develop sales presentations
  • Develop and leverage relationships with key decision-makers in assigned markets, to deliver superior sales results
  • Educate customers on our brand story and our compelling, award-winning portfolio of spirits
  • Coordinate and execute tastings and events at retail accounts, restaurants, and bars
  • Secure the placement of cocktail recipes that promote GlenPharmer spirits on the menus of restaurants and bars
  • Execute marketing programs that increase awareness, trial, consumption, loyalty, brand equity, and ROI
  • Maintain a visible and value-adding presence in the market with both key & target accounts
  • Participate in the development of the regional sales strategy and goal planning
  • Participate in weekly sales review, providing input on local market volume and distribution goals, grounded market insights, industry dynamics, and competitive intel
  • Analyze on/off-premise channels within the region to effectively plan and execute promotional activities.
  • Meet or exceed revenue objectives (top and bottom line) and account placements for the region
  • Reset merchandise at customer locations to enhance the display of portfolio products and to drive sell-through efforts
  • Manage the quality of distribution (not just the quantity) - focus efforts on high value account types and optimal product placements
  • Communicate with the operations and management teams regarding any product discrepancies and/or customer issues
  • Consistently document contact information and sales call notes following every sales call and marketing event, in CRM software

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, but relevant experience in lieu of degree is acceptable
  • Prior field sales experience in the alcohol beverage industry (preferably spirits)
  • Prior experience with business development in the alcohol industry is helpful
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Demonstrated ability to close sales

Essential Position Requirements:

  • Must be 21+ years old
  • Must be TIPS certified or willing to get TIPS certified before starting
  • Must be reliable and punctual
  • Ability to lift and carry weight in excess of 40 lbs.
  • Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to pick up and transport POS, event equipment, and product/merchandise
  • Ability to drive/travel throughout GlenPharmer’s market area
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including afternoons, evenings, and weekends
