Job description
Arizona Ready for College and Career is recruiting for AmeriCorps Members to serve at different locations throughout Arizona (Flagstaff, Phoenix, Tucson, Prescott, Lake Havasu City, Bullhead City, Kingman, Cottonwood, Sedona, Holbrook, etc). Through this project NAU's Center for Service and Volunteerism will place 65 AmeriCorps members who will prepare students for on-time high school graduation and college enrollment in low-income communities and Title 1 schools in Arizona whose on-time high school graduation rates are lower than the national average of 81.4%. The member will receive training in college access from the Arizona College Access Network and Northern Arizona University.
Member Duties : -Provide a safe and high-quality early learning environment that meets the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive needs of four-year-old -Plan and implement play-based activities and lessons using High Scope and PATHS curriculum in alignment with the Arizona Early Learning Standards -Ensure the classroom environment is culturally responsive and age appropriate -Involve families and community members in classroom activities and lessons -Maintain documentation related to child progress, family communication, and overall classroom operations -Participate in ongoing professional development to improve teaching practices -Act as the lead staff member for before and after care activities under the supervision of the before and after school program -Foster positive relationships with children, families, colleagues, and community partners -Support maintaining all aspects of the classroom program
