Job Summary for the College Nurse Instructor

• Will develop, modify, and implement educational training that meets both the instructional objectives of this institute and the needs of the students.
• Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited technical/occupational courses at a technical college.
• Develops program and syllabi, goals and objectives and evaluates students' progress in attaining those goals and objectives.
• Requests and maintains supplies and equipment and prepares budget requests, maintains program certification requirements, as appropriate, prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports, and attends staff development training, workshops, seminars and conferences.
• Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area, meets with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues, and assists with recruitment, retention and job placement efforts.
• Required to manage and recruit, maintain program standards by participating in related advisory committee meetings and work directly with local employers.
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills, organizational and classroom management skills, strong verbal and written communication skills and be proficient in the use of MS Office Word and Excel.

Minimum Education Requirements

• 2+ years of teaching experience.
• 2+ years of nursing experience in the acute care setting.
• MSN degree
• Post-secondary teaching experience-both traditional classroom and online instructions is preferred.
• Proficient in the use of Banner is preferred.
