Distribution Center Asset Protection Manager (DC-APM) - Miami locations

The DC-APM is an integral member of our team that will manage a team of Security Guards responsible for the execution of Asset Protection routines and initiatives to support secure environments and protect our clients profitability.
The DC – APM is responsible for risk mitigation, planning and providing real-time support and communication should security breaches and/or critical events arise. They are accountable for controlling and managing their respective DC’s shrink, damages, fraud and abuse. This position requires the ability to influence, teach, coach and train others. In addition, the DC – APM is responsible for ensuring operational and procedural compliance, auditing, conducting investigations, managing and proposing solutions to mitigate losses as well as presenting findings.
Responsibilities:
- Travel throughout the region to maintain and develop partnerships, ensure delivery of a high standard, professional security service across the production
- Proficiency in Distribution Center (DC) WMS and understand all aspects of DC operations including scheduling and payroll
- Prepare and present training courses to educate team on shrink, defectives and inventory control along with how to prepare and respond to critical incidents – Weather, Active Shooter, Civil Unrest, etc.…
- Conduct operational audits to include; but not limited to, Inventory Accuracy, Reclamation, Rebox, Inbound/Outbound Shipments, Guards, CTPAT, Trailers, Lockers etc.…
- Present to DC Leadership the outcomes of audits along with recommendations for improvement
- Review and interpret Operational KPI's and provide guidance, support and solutions to all key partners
- Primary contact for DC Defect Reduction Initiatives
- Conduct Physical Security walks to ensure that DC security controls & procedures are being adhered to
- Create and build relationships with Local Law Enforcement
- Ownership of all internal investigations & interviews related to theft and/or fraud
- Review and monitor CCTV and Access Control Systems
- Primary contact for any issues and/or concerns
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities:
- 4+ years of managing a loss prevention team, preferably in a Distribution Center and/or logistics
- 3 + years of experience in security, law enforcement, or an intelligence role
- Able to travel 30-50% domestic
- Experience building and managing teams and managing other managers
- Strong leadership skills – strategic, proactive and growth minded
- Quick thinking and strong problem solving given the fluidity of high stress situations
- Capable of independently working on location, with direct supervisor being off-site
- Strong partnership, interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Strong business and financial acumen
- Proficient knowledge of accepted internal investigation processes and methodologies in a DC environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
- Must be self-motivated with highly-effective time management skills
- Must have solid conflict management skills with the ability to work alone in stressful situations
- Must have proficient project planning skills, including the ability to organize, prioritize and control job responsibilities to meet deadlines in a fluid environment
Experience/Training Preferred:
- Asset Protection/Loss Prevention
- Security Management
- CFI/CFE/LPQ/LPC
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A) from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience
