Westmoor Mfg. Co. is seeking a full-time Assistant Apparel Designer fresh out of college.
This is an entry-level position, and located in Fort Worth, TX.
Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
- Fabric development – Prints, yarn-dyes, knits, and wovens
- Creating fabric request boards for factories
- Evaluating handlooms, strike-offs, and lab dips from factories
- Communicating with factories over sample fabric, construction, and garment fit
- Tracking receipt of samples and sample lines
- Creating technical sketches for garments
- Creating tech packs using PLM
- Preparing samples for photo shoots and line release
- Photoshoots
- Selecting and editing photos
- Creating line book with photos and sales information for lines
- Organizing sample lines
- Assist with presentation of the line to salesforce during quarterly line release meetings
- Participate in sample fittings
- Maintaining workflow for current season in development and previous seasons in mass production
Requirements:
- Associate's/Bachelor's degree in Apparel Design/related field
- Entry level or 1+years of experience
- Previous experience in apparel preferred but not required
- Knowledge of garment construction, fit, fabric and color
- Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and MS Office
- Experience with PLM a plus
- Eagerness to learn
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently
- Strong organization skills and the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently
- Portfolio required
