K Site Development, LLC is seeking for a reliable Assistant Construction Controller to assist the corporate controller in directing the organization’s construction accounting functions. This role will contribute to the development and maintenance of financial reporting, planning and budgeting systems. Additionally, they will oversee the preparation of periodic reporting and required legal/lender filings

You will be responsible for identifying and preventing discrepancies and helping set up control systems. An effective assistant controller has good knowledge of construction accounting principles. You must be an organized professional with a great eye for detail. You must be reliable and able to carry out tasks autonomously and collaboratively.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the Construction Accounting
• Prepare operating budgets and financial reports
• Forecast cash flow based on upcoming projects, expenditures, investments, and tax liabilities
• Provide end-month, quarter-end, and annual financial statements to management team
• Conduct monthly financial project review meetings with management
• Prepare yearly audit of tax returns by external CPA
• Analyze and manage for work in progress (WIP) reporting and closing processes
• Overview full cycle of accounts receivable and accounts payable
• Complete billing with project management team
• Analyze projects to improve cost management and increase profits
• Serve as liaison between the project accounting team and project management team
• Assist with single family, multi-family and commercial construction by creating budgets, reviewing supplier contracts, production costs and verifying invoices
• Coordinate with estimators to ensure accuracy and production
• Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors and suppliers
• Maintain insurance requirements in compliance with Florida lien statutes
• Maintain fixed asset schedules
• Oversee payroll tax reporting

Assistant Construction Controller Qualifications/Skills:

• Strong work ethic
• Exceptional knowledge of accounting, budgeting, and GAAP
• Accounting and Construction experience with intercompany transactions
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• A team player and able to influence, train, and mentor staff to achieve objectives
• Highly skilled in math, accounting, and financial processes
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented and highly organized
• Skilled in time management and the ability to prioritize tasks
• Excellent critical thinking skills
• Solid understanding of GAAP and applicable regulations
• Proven experience as an assistant controller or other similar position

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting (master’s preferred)
• At least 2-3 years’ experience in construction accounting
• CPA preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
