JOB SUMMARY:


Accountable to supervise accounting staff and ensure that all daily job functions are performed in an accurate and timely manner, facilitate deadlines for month-end close, and assist controller in all aspects of accounting.

FUNCTIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
:


  • Supervise accounting staff relevant to the daily operations and ensure duties are performed in timely and accurate manner. (Accounts Receivable/General Accounting Clerk/Accounts Payable/Payroll)
  • Train staff according to the basic guidelines and procedures that has been established by Grand Canyon Squire Inn.
  • Schedule and ensure adequate coverage for the department Monday-Friday in addition to month end requirements and deadlines
  • Provide backup coverage for all areas of accounting when needed.
  • Assist Controller with month end journal entries and close process in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Communicate management objectives to accounting staff and ensure compliance of policies and procedures.
  • Screen potential accounting applicants and initial interview process.
  • Review accounting staff members according to the policies and guidelines set forth by the GCSI.


PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
:


  • Climbing
    : Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like; using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. Check only if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary locomotion.
  • Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces. Check only if the amount and kind of balancing exceeds that needed for ordinary locomotion and maintenance of body equilibrium.
  • Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
  • Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
  • Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
  • Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
  • Standing: Particularly for sustained periods of time.
  • Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances.
  • Fingering: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm, as in handling.
  • Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
  • Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken work. Those activities which demand detailed or important instructions spoken to other workers accurately, loudly or quickly.
  • Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds with no less than a 40 db loss. Ability to receive oral communication and make fine discriminations in sound.
  • Repetitive Motions: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
  • Operators (Electronic Equipment), Inspection, Close Assembly, Clerical, and Administrative: This is a minimum standard for use with those whose job requires work done at close visual range. (i.e. preparing and analyzing data and figures, accounting, transcription, computer terminal, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small parts, operation of machines, using measurement devices, assembly or fabrication of parts.)
  • The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as typical office or administrative work).

CERTIFICATE/LICENSE
:


  • Employment Eligibility for the United States


  • High School graduate or equivalent required
  • Two years minimum supervisory experience
  • Individual must portray a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Individual must be confidential in nature and possess a good work ethic
  • Must be organized and well versed in record keeping
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with department managers and employees
