The Assistant Day Care Teacher assists in the planning, implementation and supervision of developmentally appropriate early childhood programs which meet the individual physical, emotional, social and intellectual needs of infant/toddler, preschool and/or school age children.
Responsibilities of this position include:
- Assists in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum.
- Works in a collaborative partnership with families.
- Uses positive discipline encouraging pro-social behavior.
- Follows the prepared balance daily schedule.
- Creates an atmosphere that looks, sounds and feels friendly, pleasant and inviting
- Keeps classroom/daycare safe, neat and clean.
- Assists in record keeping.
Requirements of this position include:
- High school diploma or GED
- State approved early childhood assistant teacher course. Infant/toddler course
