- Lead all facets of GW’s summer housing program, including client marketing, recruitment, contracts, bookings, service delivery, and staffing, leading a professional staff committee to manage summer preparedness and day-to-day operations
- Manage central departmental desk and office operations, customer service delivery, day-to-day operational, and information management processes
- Motivate, direct, supervise, and evaluate 2 full time professional staff Housing Associates; provide indirect supervision to student staff.
- Coordinate with campus partners to ensure critical facilities readiness, housekeeping, safety, and information technology needs to support summer residential operations
- Assist in the management of opening and closing of the residence halls as it pertains to the logistics of the summer housing season, academic year, and other transitional housing periods
- Oversee central departmental and housing operations mass communication and marketing systems and processes in collaboration with departmental, divisional, and university communications teams
- Serve as a member of the departmental leadership team and assists in the development of policies, priorities, and decision-making for the achievement of departmental goals and objectives.
- Regularly engages with students and staff in the residence halls and across campus, as an active community member.
- Serve as part of a 24/7 rotating on call system as Senior Administrator on Call to provide guidance to urgent residential needs, campus emergencies, or other incidents in the residence hall. Respond to scene for significant residential emergencies.
This position is a live-in role, where the incumbent resides on campus, and does include some night and weekend responsibilities.
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 6 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant area of study plus 4 years of relevant professional experience. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Qualified candidates are required to live on campus as a condition of employment.
- Master’s Degree in higher education administration, counseling or related field.
- Progressively responsible higher education administration experience to include full-time supervision experience within a student affairs department.

- Willingness to disrupt traditional or convenient practices to create more equitable and student-centered experiences for all residents
- Proven collaborative work successes of partnerships with both internal and external departments, including but not limited to Faculty, Facilities, Safety, and Student Success partners
- Leadership and management successes, with the ability to motivate, inspire, support, and develop a team of committed professionals
- Proven ability to navigate organizational change processes including conflict, change, and uncertainty
- Comprehensive commitment to customer service in all aspects of academic year and summer residential experiences
- Exceptional critical thinking, consensus building, emotional intelligence and problem solving skills
- Active involvement in regional or national organizations
- Ability to have an outcomes mindset to achieve desired goals
- Master’s Degree in higher education administration, counseling or related field.
- Progressively responsible higher education administration experience to include full-time experience within a student affairs department.
