Reporting to the Senior Director, Development Communications, this role provides strategic direction for the Foundations digital communications and leads a team in deploying digital tools such as video, social media, web, and a digital asset management system to engage and steward donors, with a focus on reaching new demographics and/or reaching existing donors in new ways. They will make recommendations for which platforms, tools, and channels to use for outreach. In collaboration with members of the Development Communications and Content teams, other development colleagues, and members of Stanford Medicine Childrens Healths Strategic Marketing and Communications team, this highly creative individual also helps to monitor and evaluate the impact of our digital communications efforts. This position will supervise a Digital Communications Assistant and a Digital Communications Specialist. As needed, s/he will hire and manage external vendors to execute and manage production of digital communications. This position will play an active and important role in ongoing efforts to engage and thank our donor community through storytelling.
Due to Covid-19, employees of LPFCH (Lucile Packard Foundation for Childrens Health) are currently working remotely, with the expectation of returning to the office within the next few months (subject to extensions as circumstances warrant). Once the office reopens, employees will transition to a hybrid work model. Please note that LPFCH has a Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination Policy and that all new employees must submit proof of their Covid-19 vaccination and booster vaccines at the time their employment commences. GENERAL POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Craft and lead the implementation of an overarching digital communications strategy at the Foundation in partnership with Senior VP of Strategic Communications, Senior Director of Development Communications, and Director of Content using best practices and procedures for mediums including video, social media, web, email and mobile marketing, and digital asset management.
  • Independently lead and execute select, high-stakes video projects from concept through execution; deploy and assign teammates to other video projects and provide oversight to ensure high quality outcomes.
  • Provide recommendations on the appropriate level of fidelity, budget, and resources for different audiences and desired outcomes.
  • Help evaluate the Foundations overall social media presence across different channels and programs, and collaborate on clarifying and shaping a more cohesive strategy.
  • In collaboration with the Content team, advise on web presence and landing pages to help achieve different communication and fundraising goals.
  • Manage multiple direct reports, review their projects to ensure appealing and high-quality results, provide accountability and feedback for progress toward goals, and foster professional development opportunities.
  • Originate new approaches and ideas for building audiences and usage of all digital platforms.
  • Manage workflow and requests for digital communication projects with appropriate internal partners to ensure alignment on goals, deliverables, and deadlines.
  • Deliver quarterly reports on key metrics and recommend actions to streamline workflows, make best use of resources, and deliver more effective solutions.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging opportunities.
  • Recommend new approaches, procedures, and processes to effect continual improvements in efficiency, deliverables, and outcomes.
