CBEM brings lasting, positive changes to the individuals with developmental disabilities we serve, some of whom experience mental illness. Our process begins with observations from which we design a comprehensive plan. It continues on as we teach our clients and their circle of support how to obtain positive, sustainable outcomes.

Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Assistant Director acts in the stead of the Program Director when required. The Assistant Director also provides leadership to the Critical Intervention Team in the form of staff hiring, onboarding, off boarding, training, intake, and stakeholder engagement. The Assistant Director uses discretion and independent judgment in the course of his/her duties. In collaboration with the Program Director, the Assistant Director plays a key role in overall quality assurance of CBEM's contractual responsibilities with all stakeholders.

Here's what success looks like:
You will be a dedicated advocate with 3 years minimum of previous work experience with our client population (Regional Center consumers - developmental disabilities and/or mental health diagnoses). This will be key to your success at CBEM. We would love to have someone that is experienced with prior people management, but we can support you in your professional development. You will have a working knowledge of recording keeping, auditing, billing, case notes, and data collection for our Electronic Health Record (EHR) database, as we rely heavily on Welligent, our chosen system. But do not worry if you do not have a working knowledge of an EHR, we can offer training for the system. Our Assistant Director should be able to build great rapport and have tact when interacting with stakeholders and team members, as well as be able to effectively and professionally communicate over the phone, email, or text.. We are a Mac- and Google-based company, so proficiency in these operating systems will be ideal.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but will not be limited to:

  • Hiring Responsible for interviewing, selection and hiring of Critical Intervention Team employees.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources on tracking applicants, new hires, in applicant tracking system.

Training

  • Coordinate with the Program Director on CBEM's weekly Team Meetings.
  • Review and contribute to updates on training modules for the Team.
  • Oversee new Critical Intervention Team employee training Provide safety training to staff in absence of Program Director.

Intake

  • Review and acknowledge any new referrals submitted to CBEM.
  • Assign new referrals to CIS team members for further follow-up.
  • Notify the Regional Center with CBEM case assignments.

Quality Assurance/Clinical

  • Ensure client Case Notes are completed in CBEM's database and give feedback to CIS as necessary.
  • Email completed case notes to the Regional Center Service Coordinators and their Supervisors.
  • Assist in Documentation Review (Case notes, Stabilization Plans, Case reviews, database documentation).
  • Monitor contractual monthly billing hours. Oversee the operation of the CBEM crisis hotline.
  • Ability to implement and monitor policy and procedure in accordance with CBEM guidelines. Participate in the Administrative On Call Rotation.
  • Manage the receipt of Parental Verification Forms (PVF) from the team and submission to the Regional Center.
  • Complete and manage end of month billing reports.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Attend CBEM / Regional Center Monthly Meetings and weekly Regional Center clinics.
  • Advise Critical Intervention Team members with CPS, APS and other related matters as they arise.
  • Support Critical Intervention Team members, monitor team morale, and self-efficacy.
  • Support CBEM values of excellence, service, integrity and inclusivity.

Required Documents

  • Copy of official college transcript confirming the completion of Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in psychology, social work or behavioral science is required. Master's degree in a related field is strongly desired.
  • Current California driver's license and proof of sufficient car insurance minimums (must maintain during employment)
  • Clearance of DOJ/FBI records (complete before hire) Proof of Negative Tuberculosis Screening (upon hire)
  • Proof of current and valid car insurance with minimum $300,000 bodily injury and property damage combined coverage, or $300,000 Bodily Injury and $100,000 property damage coverage.
