Job description
The Prince William County Office of Housing and Community Development is seeking qualified candidates for the position of the Assistant Director in its Planning and Development Division. This position performs complex professional and administrative work managing, implementing, and coordinating a variety of federally funded Housing and Community Development programs including the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Home Investment Partnerships Program (HOME), Emergency Solutions Grant (EGS), and other federal, state, and local housing and homeless initiatives. The position involves supervising professional level personnel engaged in program activities and ensuring program compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Works under the general supervision of the Office of Housing and Community Development Director. Supervision is exercised over subordinate Community Planning and Development Analysts.
ABOUT THIS ROLE:
This position is very fast paced and demanding; requires strong organizational skills, strong communication skills and time management skills, to be able to keep up with deadlines, while maintaining budgets and leading a team.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or G.E.D. and 8 years of related experience.

Superior communications and supervisory skills and comprehensive knowledge of housing and community development program administration, including the following: financial management of programs; federal, state, and local laws and regulations; principles, methods, and practices of publicly assisted housing, rehabilitation, homeless services; housing development, and finance; and grants management. Experience in project development, grant application, and administration of federal community planning and development programs, such as the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Home Investment Partnerships Program (HOME), and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG).
SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:
Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5pm with flexibility required to meet the demands of the job.
ENTRY SALARY RANGE:
$85,015 - $119,151
