Assistant Director of Operations
Koala Park Daycare is a collection of premier boutique LOVE inspired early childhood education programs in lower Westchester. We are on a mission to put love back into childcare through a culture of love, focus on building community and an empowering learning environment with a foundation on SEL. We are looking for an experienced, passionate & motivated Assistant Director to help further develop and implement the Koala Park program and help us bring our mission to life!

Stage 1: (Beginning of 2023 to mid ‘23’)
Work Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8 hrs per day. Time allocation will be determined by current projects.
- Mornings will be spent at the Daycares (alternating locations) undertaking the role of assistant, working in the classroom area with the children in both the infant and preschool programs, being part of the OCFS ratio, while mainly focusing on implementing the Koala Park program. (8am to 12pm)
- Afternoons will be spent in the office of Koala Park performing duties related to project work, as well as answering phones, responding to tour request emails, and other administrative duties as needed. (1pm-5pm).
- 1 hr Lunch Break (unpaid)
- Projects:
- Project # 1 - Help implement and fine tune the Koala Park program: refining the 16 stage daily process program and checklist. Identifying areas for improvement and changes that should be made.
- Project # 2 - Help build out the Operations Manual for the Koala Park Franchise. Working on filling in sections and formatting for consistency
- Project #3 - Helping design materials for marketing and communications including social media posts, email marketing and flyers
- Project #4 - Customer Service Program - help us build & execute an outstanding CS program ( managing inbound calls, doing call backs, doing tours, writing and implementing scripts)
Stage 2: Mid 23’ onward
The role will move more to office-based with less time conducting daycare/classroom program shifts. Responsibilities will include and are not limited to:
- CRM management
- Communications with current and new parents
- Parent tours
- Customer service management
- Staff program implementation
- New Franchisee set up
- Marketing materials design assistance
- Some social media platforms assistance

Skill Sets required:
- Strong writing skills - ability to write reports and manuals
- Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
- Ability to manage projects and stay on trac
- Demonstrated knowledge of current early childhood education policies, practices, trends, curriculum & development.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all information related to children, parents, and staff.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and policy/procedure manuals; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to multitask and work in a demanding, fast paced environment.
- Regular use of computer, email system, phone system, Microsoft Office software , Social Media and Design software (CANVA at min.).
- Excellent communications skills and English language.
- Ability to provide superb customer service to all our clients, and troubleshoot any problems that might arise with enrolled families in an amicable and diplomatic manner.
- Minimum of thirty-six(36) hours of training annually: twelve (12) hours in the areas of management and staff supervision required; twenty four (24) hours in child development or early childhood education required. COMPANY PAID.
- Able to meet all criteria to be determined qualified after criminal background, child registry and fingerprint checks.
- CDA preferred, but not required.
- Must be caring, compassionate and love what you do!
- Must have a passion for making a difference in the lives of the children we care for.
- Must have experience working in a Daycare setting in classrooms with different aged children (infants, toddlers & preschoolers)
- Must have knowledge of early childhood education
- Must have knowledge of daycare business operations
Wages: $20/hr
