Summary

To assist in overseeing yard operations and yard personnel in order to achieve a successful balance of customer satisfaction and yard profitability. Supervises employees appropriately & effectively.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide accurate fast in, fast out service for customers
• Identify the needs and provide the appropriate level of assistance to the customer. Effectively research and resolve customer complaints and conflicts.
• Ensure that all reasonable directives from the Manager are carried out in a timely and accurate manner
• Communicate regularly with the Manager regarding inventory levels, employee progress, safety, procedures, and general yard efficiency
• Monitor employees’ daily activity and delegate or assign work as appropriate
• Challenge and develop employees’ performance, provide feedback, and hold direct reports accountable for their goals and job responsibilities
• Ensure timely, accurate review of weekly time record reports and employee expenses for payroll processing
• Make recommendations to Manager regarding employee performance for coaching, review and disciplinary efforts
• Understand the marketplace/ know product features
• Effective suggestive selling and add on sales
• Inventory, Merchandising, and Receiving
• Maintain a neat, clean yard appearance
• Practice good merchandising including setup and traffic flow

Other duties may be assigned

• The candidate applying for this position must have a strong background in leadership and will have an active role working along side staff with customers at the East Greenbush branch.
