The Assistant General Manager (AGM) of Environmental Services (EVS) directs a wide variety of janitorial services required, in a client servicing operation, in facilities operations or services at a health care establishment. This position will coordinate, at the direction of management, key functions and supervise between 3-10 employees during the normal course of business. Evening, holiday, and weekend hours are required.

The AGM will support Kanakanak Hospital in Dillingham, AK. Candidate must be living in and/or be willing to relocate to Dillingham, AK.\

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Serves as a working lead, coordinating activities of housekeepers and janitors engaged in cleaning and/or maintaining a healthcare facility.
Independently directs, assigns, supervises, and guides all assigned janitorial employees.
Plans and prepares work schedules and assignments.
Approves assigned employee payroll documents, payables, etc.
Completes other accounting, safety, or administrative documentation or record keeping.
Completes assigned supply orders and billings.
Assists in training new staff and provides ongoing training to existing staff.
Regularly takes, controls, replaces, and disperses assigned inventories.
Regularly conducts facility inspections to maintain the quality of provided services.
Coordinates associated equipment care and maintenance.
Conducts safety meetings and insures daily operations are in compliance with company safety requirements.
Establishes quality standards and work procedures for staff and evaluates their performance.
Identifies, resolves, or appropriately reports site safety hazards.
Knowledgeable about the use of industrial cleaning products and chemicals, and interpreting Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).
Assist employees in the resolution of work related difficulties.
May infrequently perform some actual duties of assigned employees to cover various circumstances.
May occasionally travel to other units in town for operational support.
This position is responsible for the supervision of staff.
Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Minimum two (2) years directly related experience that demonstrates knowledge of cleaning equipment and general cleaning process.
Minimum of one (1) year experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
Basic skillset in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under NMS’ vehicle insurance policy.
Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
Must pass a fingerprinting background investigation that complies with The Crime Control Act, Child Care Worker Act and the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act.
Proof of immunization for TB, and any other immunizations and screenings designated for this contract.
Contract requires candidate to get a flu shot pre-hire and annually thereafter.
Contractor may be required to maintain all employee health records on site.
This contract requires COVID-19 vaccination.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Weather: Occasional exposure to harsh weather conditions; requires work be done both inside and outside.
Noise level: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Office conditions:
Description of environment: Hospital setting. Pace of work is medium and high volume of customer interaction.
Physical requirements: Employee is required to frequently lift up to 50 lbs. This position is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift.
Travel: This position requires travel up to 25% of the time. Employee may travel to other client units in town.
