If this sounds like a culture you’d like to be a part of, Bobby Jones Links is hiring a Assistant Golf Course Superintendent. Primary responsibilities include:

• Directing and participating in the maintenance of the golf course tees, greens, fairways, and cart paths.
• Supervising the maintenance and repair of motorized and other mechanical equipment.
• Having working knowledge of all golf course jobs and operation of all golf course equipment. t.
• Supervising special projects and labor crews.
• Knowledge of agronomy, turfgrass science and the rules of golf.
• Enforcing safe working conditions with all job assignments and responsible for instructing staff on proper equipment use and work methods.
• Maintaining chemical storage and mixing area in compliance with county, state, and federal regulations.
• Repairing the irrigation system, pipes and irrigation heads as needed.
• Reporting golf course conditions and all disciplinary problems to the golf course superintendent.
• Operating irrigation heads in dry areas needing additional water.

Required Skills

• Current state certification or licensing as a pesticide applicator.
• Knowledge of tools, methods, and materials used in grounds construction, landscaped area maintenance work and building maintenance and improvement.
• Ability to operate trucks and light motorized equipment.
• Working knowledge of basic electricity and hydraulics related to an irrigation system, including automatic valves and controllers and various types of pumps and pumping system.
• Understanding of green surface moisture levels, utilizing moisture meter and applying irrigation water by hand where needed.
• Possession of a valid driver's license

• Lift up to 50 lbs. regularly; up to 75 lbs. occasionally and to lift overhead and push/pull, move heavy objects.
