Job description
As an Assistant Manager to the Technology Evaluation team, you will find opportunities for technical cooperation with advanced US research institutes to evaluate future promising technologies and review their applicability. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing US energy system technology trends, evaluating incubating technology programs (mid-to-long-term programs of more than two years), and communicating with the Energy System Center in Korea on key technologies in terms of creating, evaluating, and implementing collaboration opportunities. In addition, it is responsible for delivering and communicating analysis information to the HQ System Development Center with information that is helpful for sensing and decision-making about data-based, new technologies and their changes. For this position, we prefer to have Korean bilingual. This position is reported to the Team Leader of the Skills Assessment Team and is located in Santa Clara, California.

Responsibilities

  • Exploring and evaluating advanced home energy system technology through home energy trend analysis and competition analysis
  • Monitor technology trends in clean energy, build analysis, and create weekly and monthly presentations
  • Discover future cutting-edge home energy technologies and evaluate technology and co-operative partner candidates
  • Discovering and suggesting future advanced core technology in the home energy field, and collaborating with external research partners
  • Support and organize cross-functional collaboration with internal and external teams and external advanced research groups
  • Communication support with the headquarters (Korea) system development center and related departments;
  • Weekly and monthly report review, executive meetings, meetings with the center and support

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ experience in energy industry with the understanding of renewable energy and related technologies
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering field or higher
  • Experience in the field of technology search and evaluation in the field of renewable energy, especially ESS, PV inverter, micro-inverter, power optimizer
  • Ability to actively communicate with research partners
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with proven ability to communicate with cross-functional teams and external organizations
  • Bilingual in Korean for better communication with Korean Headquarters energy system development center
