The Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) requires all healthcare workers, as well as individuals who interact with healthcare workers in a work setting, be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment unless a medical or religious exemption is approved. Department/Position Details/Duties:
- This position requires travel between our OrthoNebraska outreach clinics to support teams in Omaha, Council Bluffs and Norfolk.
- Ability to learn, evaluate and execute workflows that are unique to each department.
- Educates, evaluates and inspires team members as they seek to create the best possible experience for the patient.
- Focuses on helping team members improve their skills and knowledge through coaching and development.
- Maintain a high level of customer service for our external and internal customers.
- Initiates and executes process improvement initiatives designed to improve workflow, service, and team member/patient satisfaction.
- Identifies, analyzes, and resolves customer service issues.
- Processes PTO requests and bi-weekly payroll for all team members
- Provides timely feedback to team members and management regarding performance, projects and initiatives.
- Uses working knowledge of the overall Revenue Cycle with a focus on quality registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and point of service collection.
- Maintains working knowledge of pertinent requirements and policies impacting the Patient Access department.
- Performs staff coaching and counseling including corrective actions with timely documentation of disciplinary action.
- Ensuring consistent applications of organization policies and procedures across departments to maximize registration accuracy.
- Performs routine department rounds at each location to monitor environment and support team members.
- Communicates clear expectations and trains existing team members on any policy, procedure, or system changes.
- Oversees and develops team schedules for assigned areas.
- Ensures adequate staffing levels and coverage as indicated by the volumes at each location
- Provides elbow support when appropriate.
- Organizes and executes regular team meetings
Position Requirements:
Education:
- Associate degree or equivalent education/experience/credentials preferred
Experience:
- 2-5 years prior experience in a healthcare setting and working knowledge of EMR systems with emphasis on customer service preferred.
- 2-4 years of medical insurance experience preferred.
- Previous experience in Revenue Cycle preferred.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the proven ability to build high performing and high functioning teams.
- Excellent coaching, counselling, listening and communication skills.

- This position is classified as Sedentary Work in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, requiring the exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (up to 33% of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (33%-66% of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
