What does an Assistant Preschool Director do:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Department or Program Coordinator assists in developing, organizing, and implementing high quality YMCA programs.
- Have a genuine love for children and a strong commitment to education
- Develop, organize, and plan programs.
- Coordinate monthly schedules.
- Assist in recruiting, supervising, and evaluating performance of program staff. Manage staff schedule and assignments.
- Ensure compliance with established procedures, policies and standards related to health and safety. Complete routine risk assessments and correct deficiencies. Report incidents promptly.
- Ensure proper care and use of facilities and equipment.
- Monitor enrollment and usage numbers of facilities and member program enrollments.
- Ensure quality member service to all members and participants at all times.
- Actively market programs to schools and community.
- Provide safe and effective instructions to children and parents.
- Follow and enforce safety standards and all other policies and procedures.
- Carries out all responsibilities in an honest, ethical and professional manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned by program area.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 12 ECE units and experience working in a preschool.

- Must be at least 18 years old
- 6+ months’ work experience in related role
- High School Diploma or equivalent
