Community Action of Eastern Iowa provides Head Start and Early Head Start programming to over 500 children and their families. We are seeking positive individuals to join our classroom teams and help us make a difference for the children, families, and communities of our program!

Responsibilities of an Education Assistant:

• Assist the classroom teacher with preparing and implementing classroom activities
• Interact and build relationships with children ages 3-5 years old
• Maintain a safe learning environment for the children at the center and in the classroom
• Help families to access supports in the community and to advocate for their child’s education

Requirements:

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience with children preferred
• Desire to work with preschool age children and their families.
• Ability to be part of a team of adults to implement a safe and positive learning experience
• We welcome and encourage applicants who speak a second language
