Job description
Provide drug and alcohol testing services for Community Corrections, Health and Human Services and other outside referral sources, and assist with pretrial testing follow-up. Assist probation officers with pretrial case review and presentence file preparation and set-up. Complete bail evaluations to assist the court and attorneys in making informed pretrial release decisions, and complete electronic monitoring hook-ups. Perform other duties as assigned.
All tasks will be performed in accordance with county and department policy and procedure.
Examples of typical duties may include but are not limited to the following. Regular attendance according to the department approved work schedule, and developing and maintaining respectful and cooperative working relationships is required of all Sherburne County positions.
SERVICE DELIVERY
- Coordinate and conduct alcohol and drug testing.
- Complete electronic monitoring hook-ups.
- Complete pretrial bail evaluations.
- Enter legal history for PSI’s and other specified court reports.
- Assist probation officers with collateral contacts, case review and follow up.
- Maintain accurate chronological recordings and client case data in CSTS.
Two years post-secondary education in criminal justice, social work, behavioral science, or a related field; or
Two years of work experience in Community Corrections/Probation, Health and Human Services, or Corrections/Residential Care.
Four Year Degree Preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of and ability to utilize Evidence Based Practices
- Knowledge of local/state/federal laws, court rules and professional standards in the field of corrections
- Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form
- Ability to problem solve and make decisions
- Ability to work effectively with a variety of offenders
- Basic knowledge of applicable computer programs
- Knowledge of data practices
Interviews are tentatively scheduled for week of January 23, 2023.
