Lourdes University invites applications for an Assistant Professor of English, with a focus on Rhetoric and Composition and experience in digital and media studies. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop new curriculum, forge connections with community partners, and have an active role in building a strong and vibrant program that serves a diverse population of students. Ideal applicants will have a demonstrated background in teachingcomposition (and rhetoric) courses, using multiple modalities, with an academic specialization in digital and media studies.

Responsibilities:

• Teach composition and rhetoric courses using creative and engaging methods
• Teach composition and rhetoric courses using multiple modalities (face to face, hybrid, online) as appropriate
• Contribute to scholarship in the field appropriate to specialization and academic rank

• Develop and assess writing curriculum• Advise students as assigned

• Participate in student recruitment and retention initiatives• Meet department and University service requirements, including committee and community service

Qualifications:

• hold a PhD in Rhetoric and Composition, with demonstrated teaching experience at the time of appointment
• ABD within one year of completion also considered
