The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology invites applications for two full-time, benefited, 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in English. The successful candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate courses in writing and technical and science communication and to contribute to the curriculum of our interdisciplinary Science, Technology, and Society major, which has two tracks: (1) environment and sustainability and (2) policy and law. Preferred candidates will have additional expertise in science and technology studies, technology and humanities, digital humanities or rhetoric, user experience, or other similar areas.
A PhD in English, rhetoric and composition, technical and professional writing or communication, or a closely related discipline is required at the time of appointment. Experience teaching at the university level is preferred. The desired start date for these positions is August 2023.
