Assistant Scientist
Genomics Program
Full-Time


This positon will be dedicated to computational biology research and related academic activities in the HSS Research Institute.

  • Maintain a high quality research program with a focus on rheumatology and musculoskeletal research that contributes to the HSS research mission
  • Participate in the academic activities of the Research Institute, including research meetings and seminars and collaborative research projects as appropriate. Participate in collaborative studies, including translational research studies that draw upon the large clinical volume at our institution.
  • Participate in the academic programs of Weill Cornell Medical College and Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences and maintain an active academic appointment at Weill Cornell Medicine.
  • Participate in the supervision of trainees, including residents, fellows, students and interns who participate in research studies. This supervision will include guidance on design of research projects, review and analysis of research data and preparation of presentations and manuscripts describing the research data.
  • Document the results of research studies through preparation and submission of research manuscripts to peer-reviewed journals for publication and submission of research data for potential presentation at professional meetings.
  • Obtain external support for research activities and be responsible for identifying funds to offset research. Those funds can derive from peer-reviewed research grants, industry-sponsored collaborative research projects and donor-derived funds.
  • Ensure that all research projects are appropriately reviewed by the institutional IACUC or IRB and are compliant with policies on animal and human subject research.
  • Comply with all policies of the HSS Research Institute.
  • Seek participation on extramural academic and research committees in order to gain national and international recognition and contribute to the overall research enterprise.
  • Submit an annual progress report on research achievements and participate in an annual review of that progress and activities to determine continuation of the research support into the following year.
  • All additional duties as assigned by the Chief Scientific Officer.
