Job description

Good knowledge of modern building maintenance repair and cleaning practices, good knowledge of basic principles and practices of operating and maintaining heating and electrical equipment for large buildings; working knowledge of the practices, tools and technique of one or more of the standard building trades. Ability to plan and supervise the work of others, ability to prepare reports and keep records. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Mechanical aptitude, good judgment and physical condition commensurate with demands of the position.

Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered college or university with an Associate’s degree in engineering, construction technology or a closely related field and one year of experience in building and grounds maintenance and cleaning; or graduation from a high school or in possession of a high school equivalency diploma and three years of experience in buildings and grounds maintenance or cleaning or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

12 month position. 8 hours per day. Applicants must be Yates County Civil Service approved.
