Job summary

AWS Professional Services Accelerate to Consultant (A2C) is an accelerated career development program for college graduates and technical professionals early in their post-graduate careers. The program consists of self-paced technical curriculum, regionally-based classroom trainings, AWS certification training, shadowing, and hands-on billable project work.

For applications to be fully optimized, they need to be architected to take advantage of the global scale, elasticity, automation and high availability features of the AWS cloud. On the AWS platform, services such as API Gateway, Lambda, ECS, SQS, Kinesis, AI and others provide opportunities to design and build cloud-ready applications.

Professional Services engage in a wide variety of projects for customers and partners, providing collective experience from across the AWS customer base and are obsessed about strong success for the Customer. Our team collaborates across the entire AWS organization to bring access to product and service teams, to get the right solution delivered and drive feature innovation based upon customer needs.

We are looking for hands-on architects/developers who are passionate about:

• Helping customers architect scalable, highly available application solutions that leverage AWS services
• Architecting and developing customer applications to be cloud optimized
• Working as a technical specialist alongside customer business, development and infrastructure teams
• Providing deep software development knowledge with respect cloud architecture, design patterns and programming
• Advising and implementing AWS best practices
• Implementing DevOps practices such as infrastructure as code, continuous integration and automated deployment

This is a customer facing role. You will be required to travel to client locations and deliver professional services as needed.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• BS level technical degree or equivalent professional or military experience
• 2+ years of software development or application engineering with recent coding experience in one or more modern programing languages such as: Java, JavaScript, C/C++, C#, Swift, Node.js, Python, Go, or Ruby
• Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)
• Exposure to Agile development methodologies

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with source control repositories (e.g. Git, SVN, Mercurial and Perforce)
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools, such as: Jenkins, Bamboo and Team City
• Exposure to microservices and distributed application architectures
• Experience with AWS CloudFormation, Chef
• Experience with networking services, such as: VPNs, DNS, load balancers and firewalls
• Experience with logging and monitoring tools, such as: AWS CloudWatch, Datadog, New Relic and Splunk
• Experience with software development automated testing practices
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $140,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
