Berkeley Research Group’s Economics & Damages practice is currently seeking a highly technical consultant to join our economic experts in technology-intensive litigation matters. Our team works with clients on major patent, copyright, trade secret, software development and antitrust matters in technology intensive areas such as telecom, semiconductors, and software. Those analyses require the development of a deep understanding of underlying technologies, and integration into overarching economic analysis. The candidate will be responsible for the development of technical content, helping to bridge technology, economic, and industry issues.

The ideal candidate for this role is someone that has completed their advanced degree in electrical engineering or computer science with experience, then returned for their MBA to explore a long-term career using those technical skills in management consulting or has already had a long-term career as a business leader in technology.

Job Responsibilities:

• Acquire subject knowledge by working with internal and outside technical experts and relevant public and confidential materials.
• Building a logical bridge between technical opinions and data and their economic implications for related intellectual property and/or competitive landscape.
• Participate in project team meetings and meet deadlines with support of team lead.
• Creation of reports, executive summaries, white papers, and PowerPoint Presentations.
• Testifying, where required.

Basic Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or a related field;
• Must demonstrate strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills;
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while simultaneously collaborating with the creative team and receiving/incorporating feedback from project stakeholders;
• Ability to work closely with technical domain experts across a wide range of technologies;
• Ability to author technical content that adheres to required standards, style guidance, contract requirements, and using clear and concise language; and
• Ability to meet deadlines and quality standards.

Salary Range: $200,000 - $260,000 per year
