The Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) program office is seeking a student centered, collaborative, organized, and detail-orientated candidate to join the MSBA team. The MSBA program receives around 3000 applications yearly and supports over 400 students who are obtaining a data science STEM degree in Business Analytics. It is one of the longest-running MSBA programs in the nation and has consistently been ranked among the world’s top programs.

The Associate Director will be actively involved with the day-to-day operations of the program office including supervising student organizations, event planning, and program management long with serving as academic advisor for 1st and 2nd year MSBA students. The MSBA program is committed not only to excellence in the classroom but to quality co-curricular engagements including conferences, case competitions, mixers, and more.

This position is a hybrid work arrangement.

The general responsibilities/duties aligned with this position are as follows.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide academic counseling for graduate students. Advise on matters of curriculum, course and degree requirements, academic probation, and graduation.

  • Evaluate student problems (academic or personal) and refer student to appropriate student services office for additional support.

  • Maintain student records for the assigned courseload including degree progress, petitions, academic warning, dean’s list, and degree verification.

  • Support Academic Director in planning for course scheduling, core formation, registration, and curriculum updates.

  • Plan and coordinate student events including commencement, orientation, networking events, recruitment events, and receptions.

  • Maintain continuity of service to students by covering out-of-office periods of MSBA team members such as vacations/sick time or other limited term absences.

  • Support Associate Director in charge of Admissions in the creating, planning and execution of student recruitment, admission, and enrollment management strategies for 240 new students annually.

  • Counsel prospective students and families regarding admission policies and procedures and offers timely solutions to applicants’ problems and requests regarding admissions; ensures the delivery of quality services through high standard customer service, personal attention, and responsiveness.

  • Represent the program through on and off campus events that support enrollment goals: such as presenting at undergraduate colleges or companies, hosting campus visits, attending education fairs, leading and/or supporting admission-related events like Information Sessions, Coffee Chats and Admitted Students Day.

  • Responsible for recruitment and outreach for assigned geographic territories, which supports the accomplishment of the overall enrollment goals and takes into account the various trends and specific recruitment strategies.

  • Advise and support the program student club- Business Analytics Student Association (BASA) and student ambassadors.

  • Collaborate with the Department of Marketing & Communications to manage the Marketing initiatives for the program.

  • Manage application data such as processing applications, preparing files for committee review, managing data in the student information system, and preparing enrollment reports.

  • Evaluate applications and make admission and scholarship decisions following university admission guidelines and review strategies with the admission committee; communicate with students about the status of admissions applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Sincere desire to work with Masters Students pursuing a STEM degree in Business Analytics

  • Demonstrated communication skills (interpersonal, written, verbal, presentation)

  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in the face of changing priorities and fluctuating workloads

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously

  • Able to work well independently and as part of a team

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of graduate student requirements and needs.

  • Prior experience working with International Students and understanding of the F-1 visa rules.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information within FERPA and University guidelines.

  • Familiarity with University student information system (SIS).

  • Proficient skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint

  • Completion of, or enrollment in, an advanced degree in student affairs, student development, counseling, higher education, or other related field (preferred but not required).

Anticipated Hiring Range:

The hourly rate range for this position is $34.10 - $40.00.
