ConMet is looking to fill a six-month contract to potential hire position for an Associate Mechanical Design Engineer in our New Product Introduction team.

The core duties of this role will be:

  • Support new product development from concept through production
  • Create and modify 3D models and 2D Drawings per customer and manufacturing input
  • Collaborate with electrical, software, and analysis teams to develop an integrated product
  • Generate and control design documentation and hold design reviews

This assignment is based at our corporate headquarters in Vancouver, Washington overlooking the Columbia River.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related STEM degree from an accredited institution
  • Create and understand component and assembly design concepts, including interpreting engineering drawings and experience with GD&T
  • Experience with 3D CAD software, Creo preferred
  • Experience running Finite Element Analysis packages
  • Proficiency with MS Office

Preferred Experience:

  • Automotive, Aerospace, or Commercial Vehicle experience
  • 2+ years product design experience
  • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ANSI/ASME Y14.5
