Associate Technical Director sought by Jam City, Inc. in Carlsbad, CA.

Duties:

Work on the next generation of top-10 cross-platform games. Contribute to the full lifecycle of game development of social and mobile games and features, including design and engineering, as well as technical standards. Build the company’s platforms, systems, and networking infrastructure for mobile games, using knowledge and expertise in game development and game design principles. Oversee and work closely with lead engineers and members of development team to continuously improve quality assurance and improve gaming products. Work with principles of object-oriented software design patterns and idioms to create and build new games and support and modify existing Jam City game titles to achieve code optimization. Write modules for cross platform game development using Unity. Utilize test-driven development techniques to ensure comprehensive system test coverage, as well as research, develop, and implement new cross-platform technologies. Perform database architecture and maintenance, and application administration and deployment. Analyze user needs and design software modifications or solutions to enhance game products. Document technical notes, create test cases for new features, and fix and test bugs. Clarify and add new features, including the technical design, coding, documenting technical notes, and creating test cases. Oversee progress of development, review code, and ensure consistency with initial design. Facilitate planning, tracking, and scheduling software deliverables with Producers, performing cost analysis and budgeting functions. Prototype frameworks implementation and assign duties directly to leads and programmers. Facilitate project coordination with other teams (Unity Core, GS, other Studio teams) for project integration. Use programming technologies and development software such as ActionScript3, C#, C/C++, Objective C, Java, Python, to design mobile games and features.

Requirements :

Master’s degree , or its equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, or related field plus four (4) years of experience in social and/or mobile game design and development; developing game features, optimizations, bug fixes and testing; using Facebook Graph API to develop social features for games; analytics infrastructure including data aggregation, processing, and analysis; developing server side code using PHP programming languages; creating, developing, and maintaining databases; front end development using technologies such as CSS3, HTML5, and AS3; and using programming languages such as ActionScript 3, Java, JavaScript, PHP5, C++, MySQL, and/or Python.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation for this role. The range listed is just one component of Jam City's total compensation package for employees, which may also include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, certifications, location, business needs, or market demands. This range is based on a full-time position. This range may be modified in the future. In addition, Jam City provides a variety of benefits to employees, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan, life, disability, and accident insurance. Pay Range: $212,000 salary per year.
