Gurnet seeks a dynamic and enthusiastic professional to join our Atlassian Solution Architecture team. This position is aligned with Gurnet’s Atlassian Professional Services organization. You will contribute to the Atlassian strategy and technology roadmaps for various strategic and complex client initiatives. You will work closely with the wider Atlassian Profesional Services organization on engineering and selecting Atlassian Products, Marketplace Applications, and third-party vendors. Gurnet Atlassian Solution Architects help ensure alignment of a well-architected Atlassian framework with client strategy. Provide technical oversight and architecture of large, strategic, complex system and application development engagements within the Atlassian ecosystem. Use professional concepts in developing resolutions to critical issues and broad design matters.

As a thought leader who influences decisions made by senior leadership and advances the craft of architecture within our firm, you will contribute and help maintain Gurnet’s intellectual property, delivery methodologies, and techniques, including standards and guidelines. You will also be involved in Gurnet’s development of new products, applications, and service offerings.

• Establishes and leads the Atlassian strategy and technology roadmaps that enable clients to achieve strategic goals and objectives.
• Provides consultation to clients, technology leaders, business partners, and peer groups regarding long and short-range Atlassian product features.
• Provides oversight at the Atlassian domain level influencing decision-making and prioritizing the business and architecture backlog for development teams.
• Educates and drives adoption of the well-architected Atlassian framework to promote Operational Excellence, Security, Reliability, Performance, Efficiency, and Cost Optimization.
• Designs and develops architecture (integrated process, methodology, framework, software/applications, data, information, and technology) scalable solutions to business problems while in alignment with the client architecture direction and Atlassian standards.
• Influences and partners with client Product Owners and engineering teams to align the technical design and strategy with the solution roadmap.
• Works with Business Architects and Business Analysts to understand the problems to be solved and translate them into solution designs.
• Connects Solution Engineering with Professional Services (delivery) to ensure sound roadmaps that deliver business value.
• Responsible for prototyping complex, cross-platform business solutions to validate technologies. Reviews and ensures major architectural designs are consistent, maintainable, flexible, and cost-effective solutions.
• Participates with application and infrastructure design architects to provide guidance for Atlassian development and releases.
• Maintains collaborative and strategic partnerships between Atlassian, clients, vendors, partners, and delivery teams.
• Remains hands-on with architecture and engineering activities and is deeply embedded in the Atlassian ecosystem.
• Acknowledged as an expert in the Atlassian Consulting field by colleagues and clients.
• Mentors staff to develop technical architecture capabilities.
• Shares expertise ensures that teams continuously improve and learn together to meet current and future engineering and architecture needs.
• Shares engineering knowledge and expertise across the organization and industry through networks, events, and communities of practice.

Qualifications

• Expert-level understanding of the Atlassian ecosystem.
• Holds at least two Atlassian certifications.
• Advanced knowledge of agile development methodologies - SAFe, Scrum@Scale, etc.
• At least ten years of related experience.
• Knowledgeable in software engineering languages and tools; proficient in new and emerging technologies. (AWS, Java, J2EE)
• In-depth knowledge of diverse and emerging technologies and new architectural concepts and principles.
• In-depth understanding of layered solutions and designs; in-depth understanding of shared software concepts and product features; and security minded.
• Proficient in product and system components of technical architecture.
• In-depth knowledge of business operations, objectives, and strategies desirable; in-depth understanding of global business and technology trends.
• Strong influencing and consensus-building skills and the adaptability to respond to change quickly.
• Strong communications skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to effectively collaborate with all levels of the organization with diverse backgrounds.
• Proven experience with agile practices and expectations.
• Highly developed negotiation, consensus building & influencing skills, facilitation, and the adaptability to respond to change quickly.
• Highly developed oral and written communication skills; strong presentation skills. Ability to effectively collaborate with all levels of the organization.
• Recent experience with Atlassian Platinum or Gold level solution partner.
