Responsibilities:
- Provides technical support for presentations, lectures, meetings, symposia, concerts, performances, training sessions, rehearsals, films and events throughout the museum campus including planning, advising, setting up, rehearsals, performances, and teardowns.
- Provides written, audio and video documentation of museum events, education programs and docent training sessions for archival and study purposes.
- Sets up and supports the livestream portion of hybrid meetings.
- Provides technical support for PowerPoint, internet, museum network, video conferencing, audio, video and lighting.
- Provides off-campus technical support and works on special projects.
- Installs and maintains permanent installations of AV equipment throughout the museum campus including repairing and replacing.
- Keeps the inventory of equipment accurate and current.
- Trains On-Call staff as needed.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Strong computer skills required including Windows, Microsoft Office, Mac, including presentation software such as PowerPoint, Keynote, iPresent it, etc. Must have working knowledge of computer networking techniques.
- Must be able to evaluate, implement and promote digital media equipment, software and services that meet museum needs. Identifies, evaluates and recommends emerging digital media technologies and methodologies.
- Advises, consults and provides services related to the design, creation, and online delivery of digital media.
- Must have experience supporting and maintaining AMX and Crestron control systems, videoconferencing and other audio visual hardware.
- Must be familiar with connectors and cables including HDMI, DVId, DisplayPort, VGA, RCA, BNC, XLR, Component, Composite, Cat 5&6, RS-232
- Must have demonstrated problem solving ability.
- Must have excellent customer service skills, be detail oriented and have a strong work ethic.
- Must be able to prioritize, work independently with minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have professional appearance and demeanor appropriate to working in a professional environment.
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends to support events.
Education and Experience:
- Five years audio visual experience.
- Previous exhibition installation experience preferred.
- Must have a clean driving record and be able to pass a background check.
