Finance & Accounting - Finance & AccountingWe are looking for a self-motivated experienced audit professional looking to build a rewarding career supporting our U.S. Businesses audit group within Prudential’s Internal Audit Department. The Internal Audit Department, with over 300 employees globally, serves to protect the Company by improving the management of risks and the effectiveness of the control environment at the business, function and enterprise levels through valued independent assessments and advice on governance, risk and control. Our structure mirrors the business system, which allows us to view risks vertically and horizontally – providing opportunities to generate value within and across our businesses and corporate functions.
As an Audit Manager within the U.S. Business Audit Group, you will work with other team members to deploy our agile audit approach to ensure adequate audit coverage of assigned businesses across Prudential. This role provides the opportunity to influence our approach, lead and perform audits of the US Insurance and Retirement businesses. You will also have the opportunity to lead people and contribute to the development of members of the team.
Beyond the standard skill set of analytical thinking and excellent verbal and written communication skills, this position calls for a highly enthusiastic individual who can actively participate in all aspects of the audit, including the planning, risk assessment, data analytics, control analysis, testing, issue development and reporting phases.
This successful candidate will be expected to build and maintain collaborative relationships with key business partners in dialogue with business unit management and various control partners to identify and assess risks and controls of the US Insurance and Retirement businesses. The candidate will also be expected to grow their business/technical acumen to remain current on business developments, industry trends related to insurance, annuities and emerging risks, and changes to the financial and regulatory environments.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of audit or other related experience, preferably within the financial services industry. Some big 4 public accounting experience is preferred, but not required. A Bachelor's degree, or higher, is required, preferably a business major. An MBA, CPA, CIA or CISA is a plus, but not required. The ideal candidate should also have:
Experience with risk assessment, control analysis, audit procedures and standards, sampling techniques, data analytics, risk components, and the internal framework of control.
Practical audit experience, such as conducting risk assessments, creating audit programs, and executing or leading audits
Outstanding communication skills, both written and oral
Strong project management skills, with the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities
The ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with management, external auditors and other control partners to analyze risks and controls
The ability to effectively and confidently discuss audit issues with management and develop business-focused recommendations
Experience leading teams with a proven record of developing junior associates
Familiarity with Agile concepts and tools
This position is hybrid and will be based in Newark, NJ, with period on-site time required (2-3 days per week). Some travel is expected but will likely not exceed 25%.
