· Position Autism Waiver Consultant

· Type: Part Time, 18 hours a week (3 or 2 days )

· Location: Maryland State Department of Education, Nancy S. Grasmick Building, 200 W. Baltimore Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21201

Job Summary :

Sanford Federal, Inc. is looking to hire an Autism Waiver Performance Improvement Consultant to provide services in support of the Autism Waiver Program at the Maryland State Department of Education.

Qualification:

· Must possess a Master’s Degree or equivalency in education or a human service field from an accredited college or university.

· Must have at least three years of experience analyzing Autism Waiver Medicaid payments, regulation requirements, and service provision data. Writing technical reports, conducting training, and providing technical assistance to local providers and Service Coordinators responsible for implementing a quality assurance system for Autism Waiver services.

· Must have a minimum of three years of experience monitoring and providing technical assistance to providers regarding COMAR 10.09.56 and State policies to Medicaid programs managed by MSDE (Maryland State Department of Education).

· Must have demonstrated knowledge of federal Home and Community Based Service Waivers, and of Maryland’s Home and Community Based Services Waiver for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

· Must have experience with Medicaid Home and Community Based Services Waiver Reportable Event Policy.

Duties:

· Participate in on-site monitoring and desk-audit reviews of AW (Autism Provider) provider agencies. Review Medicaid paid claims using Excel and Google G Suite Applications and provide input on the results found during monitoring reviews;

· Prepare written reports interpreting and clarifying data for compliance monitoring and performance measures.

· Provide technical assistance and training to Service Coordinators and provider agencies on reportable event requirements.

· Analyze data, and provide summary reports to AW staff as requested, including a monthly reportable event data summary, a quarterly narrative and data summary, and an annual analysis.

· Manage AW Registry tracking, obtain updates from local jurisdictions on the progress of applicants eligible to apply to the AW program, and develop reports on the status of Registry letters.
