The Chubb Group of Insurance Companies is currently seeking an Auto Technical Specialist to join its Western Claims Service Center team. As an Auto Technical Specialist, you’re accountable for:

• Reviewing and re-inspecting vehicle appraisals prepared by independent appraisers and direct repair facilities on an ongoing basis.
• Preparing regular reports on activities.
• Ensure that all appraisals are completed in compliance with all Chubb guidelines, statutory regulations, and all Unfair Claim Practices Acts.
• Oversee external vendors and claim programs within the territory.
• To actively address all problems and issues with appropriate parties.
• To act as the main communication channel between Chubb and independent appraisal firms and direct repair facilities.
• To provide Chubb claim offices with assistance in the resolution of appraisal issues.
• To assist in the management of salvage in the serviced territory.
• To assist in the staff training and education initiatives.
• To identify and pro-actively address fraudulent claim activity.
• To complete emergency appraisals when required.

Qualifications - External

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Required insurance industry or related experience with the highest level of technical knowledge, skills and proficiency in the following areas:

• Strong knowledge of current collision repair procedures and determining repair costs.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle damage and loss evaluation.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle estimating databases.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of applicable state requirements and guidelines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Commercial and Personal lines policy coverage’s.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Training competencies to impart knowledge to staff.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Minimum 5 years of insurance claims or related field experience.

Position requires travel.

If you do not already have one, you will be required to obtain an applicable resident or designated home state adjusters license and possibly additional state licensure.
Qualifications

Competencies required for position:
Proven technical knowledge in the development, creation and analysis of auto physical damage estimates.

Advanced level of familiarity with estimating programs or similar.

Strong negotiation, organizational and time management skills.

Working knowledge of personal and commercial insurance contracts.

An ability to work with in a collaborative fashion with a wide spectrum of people.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desire to accept new challenges in a continually changing business environment.

Aptitude to share and impart knowledge and work within a team environment.

Must be both service and results driven, highly analytical and detail oriented.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite as well as other business related software.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree or equivalent is preferred.

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the direct handling of auto physical damage claims.

In White Plains, NY the pay range for the role is $65,500 to $108,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program.
