John Hiester Chevrolet is currently seeking a part-time Automotive Cashier to join our winning team. They will receive payment for products or services sold by the dealership and play a key role in maintaining or creating customer satisfaction during the business transaction.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet customers at the cashier window in a pleasant and professional manner
- Compute customer bills
- Receive cash, checks and credit card payments from customers; record amount received
- Make change and issue receipts to customers
- Close all repair orders as required
- Fax extended warranty Repair Orders over to warranty company and follow up to collect payment
- Provide refunds or credit memorandums to customers for returned merchandise or as directed by managers
- Reconcile cash drawer daily
- Work with department managers to stay abreast of new products and services offered, their features and value and any changes in price
- Answer customer questions about service performed or products purchased, or refer them to someone who can.
- Handle customer complaints with integrity and poise and, when necessary, refer dissatisfied customers to the appropriate individuals for resolution
- Scan all repair order as soon as they are processed and closed
- Maintain a professional appearance
- Keep work area neat and clean
- Other tasks as assigned
KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Team-oriented and positive attitude with high energy personality
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure while still maintaining accuracy
- Professional appearance and attitude required, and must be reliable
- Data entry skills with attention to detail
- Must have a valid U.S driver’s license and clean driving record
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
