Job Overview

The purpose of this position is to interact with our members and their guests to ensure they have a great experience while dining at Rumson Country Club. Back Servers are responsible for maintaining a positive relationship with servers and bartenders, since they play a large part in the functionality of Rumson Country Club. At all times, back servers are expected to be attentive to our servers needs and making sure that all items they are preparing to present to our members are up to the standards of Rumson Country Club.

Job Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:

• Assist all service staff in the completion of proper dining experience.
• Performs opening & closing side-work duties assigned to individual by M.O.D.
• Proper use of vocabulary during service.
• Refill member’s and/or guests water glasses when seated and as needed throughout their dining experience.
• Delivers warm bread & butter bowls in a timely manner to the tables when first seated.
• Properly clear used utensils/plates and courses according to fine dining standards taught during training seminar.
• Accurately reset tables in accordance with the F&B Employee Manual.
• Maintain cleanliness of service stations and dining areas throughout the shift.
• Stack and carry trays up to 40 lbs. through the dining room in a safe, proper, and efficient manner.
• Properly dispose of used linens.
• Assists with banquet set-up as well as buffet set-up.
• Performs other appropriate duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

• Availability to work varying schedules including weekends and holidays to reflect the business needs of the dining floor.
• Past experience preferred but not necessary.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Positive interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to deal effectively and interact well with team members, members, and guests.
• Ability to adjust quickly to changing conditions in the dining area.

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

• Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry up to 40 lbs. through a crowded room.
• Ability to be on feet for long periods of time.
