YOU: The Banquet Captain will support the Director of F&B and other members of the F&B management and banquet team. This position will oversee the overall functions of the banquet events during each scheduled shift. Our banquet team members are friendly, warm, professional, engaging and enjoy working in a luxury environment. Other areas of responsibility will include, but not limited to, floor management, assisting and supporting banquet bar service, closing final group billing, scheduling and more. This includes guiding and coaching the staff, solving guest complaints, and ensuring that we are providing excellent service.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

· Assists the F&B Director/Banquet Manager in overseeing banquet staff and coordinating banquet functions to ensure that the groups using the hotel’s banquet facilities are completely satisfied

· Managed the daily operations of the banquet area to achieve guest satisfaction, quality service and compliance with standard operating procedures.

· Train, schedule and managed the banquet Associates to ensure they are meeting Four Diamond standards.

· Managed the set-up and food preparation and service to ensure compliance with banquet event orders and optimal level of Four Diamond Service quality and hospitality.

· Responsible for the effective operations of the banquet area including all facets of the banquet beverage area.

· Ensures all coffee breaks, breakfast, lunch and dinners, reception and all banquet bars are set up on time according to the banquet set (BEO).

· Meet all clients insuring all their needs have been met.

· Ensure that all payments have been secured prior to the end of all banquet events.

· Assists in conducting training of banquet staff in proper set up, serving and clean up procedures

· Holds pre-staff meetings with banquet staff to review the specific needs of each group including service procedures, set-up, menus, order of service, and any special request

· Assist in scheduling and assigning duties to banquet staff

· Ensures all set up and closing duties are completed as assigned; performs set up and closing duties as needed

· Coordinates the timing of each course to correspond with the dining pace of the guests; assist in plating of meals; performs all Banquet Server duties as needed

· Listens and responds appropriately to all banquet guests requests, concerns and needs in a timely an professional manner

· May be required to work varied shifts

· Any other tasks deemed necessary by management

· All alcohol serving areas are to be closed no later than 1:30AM

· Adheres to all alcohol law and regulations

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

· Basic reading and writing. Food service experience with general knowledge of banquet operations

· Must meet legal age requirements of state

· Must have current food handler card

· Must have good understanding of the English Language

· Ability to exert physical effort in lifting/transporting at least 50 pounds

· Capability to push/pull carts and other equipment up to 250 pounds

· Good solid customer service and interpersonal communications

· The ability to provide prompt and courteous service to banquet guests by speaking, listening, walking, standing and carrying for extended period of time

· Ability to carry and listing items (i.e. plates, utensils, trays, tables) frequently

· Attention to detail and organizational skills required
