Job Summary

A Barista responsible for serving our customers with a friendly attitude, creating high-quality beverages, maintaining a clean and sanitary environment, and education our customers of the products and services we offer. Baristas at The Lounge Coffee and Tea Bar are required to act with the highest level of honesty, integrity and respect for our customers, employees, and our mission, vision, and core values. The following job description is a list of essential job specific responsibilities for all Baristas. This list is a summary of responsibilities and is not meant to be an all-inclusive list of duties.

Provide Quality Products

*Provides quality beverages, whole bean, and food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards. *Completes all company training to ensure they are proficient in selling all products and services. *Take part and lead coffee and tea sampling throughout their shifts to better understand our coffee and tea.

Be Customer Focused

*Greets all customers with fast, friendly, personalized service and develops a rapport with customers by learning their names, favorite drinks and food items. *Engages with customers to ensure they are educated on our products and services. *Answers customer questions in a professional and courteous manner. *Responds to any customer issue and notifies a supervisor of any customer situation. *Follows all company policies regarding cash management, including using the cash register and daily deposits. *Answers the telephone in a friendly and professional manner. *Assists customers with understanding of how to place online orders and procedures for online order pickup. *Makes additional add-on suggestions based on the customers purchases. *Maintains efficient, friendly service.

Great a Positive Environment

*Restocks all beverage making supplies and retail products when necessary. *Maintains all company standards regarding cleanliness and sanitation. Regularly cleans the bar area, floor, windows and grinders, and takes out trash, etc. *Assists stocking all weekly shipments. *Reports potential safety hazards to the manager on duty. *Reports all employee accidents to the manager on duty. *Informs the manager on duty of any operational inconsistencies.

The following are standard requirements for the Barista position. The Lounge Coffee and Tea Bar will make reasonable accommodations for those employees needing them in accordance to federal, state, and local laws.

*Must be certified and maintain a Food Handler Certification by the city of Frisco *Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality. *Ability to handle food and hot beverages *Must be able to work safely with equipment that produces extremely hot temperatures *Must maintain a positive, friendly, and professional attitude at all times *May be asked to work overtime *Excellent verbal and written skills *Excellent cash handling skills *Well-organized and detail-oriented *Regularly required to stand for long periods of time *May be required to stand on ladders and step-stools *Will be asked to clean and sanitize all areas of the store including, storage rooms, bathrooms, kitchen area, and all other customer facing areas. *Regularly required to lift and/or move items up to 30 pounds. *Baristas may be asked to perform other tasks related to the daily operations of The Lounge Coffee and Tea Bar

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation is $9.00 - $10.00/hour.
