Job description
Sovereign Brewing, sister to Standard Brewing is hiring for a position that works both bartender (3-4 days a week) and production assistant (1 day a week) - cleaning kegs, transporting inventory, labeling and general odds and ends around the brewery. On the bartending side of the job, we are looking for someone with knowledge of, or at least strong interest in saison, spontaneous and aged beer, and we are happy to train up someone with excellent customer service chops and a love for beer. On the production side, we need someone comfortable lifting full kegs, ideally with some experience in warehousing, using a forklift, running inventory, etc ... Above all, applicants should be reliable, self motivated and organized.
REQUIREMENTS:
Desire to learn about beer
Terrific attention to detail
WA State Food Handler's permit (must acquire within 30 days of hire) and MAST permit
Ability to handle all people with grace and exceptional customer service
Must be able to stand for 8 hours a day
Ability to lift full kegs without injury
Ideally, the candidate will know both Sovereign Brewing and our sister, Standard Brewing beers well
Thriving under self-direction, working alone
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serving beer to our customers, informing them of the differences between styles and guiding them to a beer that suits their tastes
Keep a clean and organized bar
Change out kegs as needed, restocking bottles, cans, and merchandise
Cleaning of common areas, front patio, booths, bartop and bathrooms
Ongoing self-education of the changing beer industry and our position within it
Maintain respect, a positive attitude and sense of humor with customers and co-workers
Cleaning of kegs, transporting of inventory between Standard and Sovereign (weekly on Mondays)
Monthly draft maintenance
Production Assistant pays $20/hr
