Beacon Day School is now hiring for our newest location in Riverside as well as Orange County!
We are offering a $1,000 Sign-On Bonus for all new Behavior Interventionists to be paid on the pay period following 90 days of employment.
Transportation is also provided by employer! Save wear and tear on your vehicle, spend less time in traffic, and all while getting paid!
Frequent overtime may be available as well!

The Opportunity:
The Behavioral Interventionist (BI) is an entry level career track position with opportunities for advancement. BIs work with students with autism and related disorders ages 5 to 22-years-old. The BI is part of a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to providing integrative educational care that gives students the opportunity to lead meaningful lives by eliminating or replacing disruptive, harmful, or negative behaviors and teaching them socially positive behaviors while supporting academic progress.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential duties and responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:
- Oversee classroom behaviors and academics under the direction of the Teacher and Manager of Behavior Services / BCBA for providing an opportunity for the student to participate in classroom activities.
- Assist in implementing student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP) and Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP).
- Implement and model alternative communication intervention strategies for teaching students to communicate effectively.
- Monitor and record data on academic and / or behavioral goals.
- Participate in mandatory training and other staff development programs as directed for the purpose of learning and enhancing new skill-sets.
- Report observations and incidents relating to specific students for the purpose of documenting and communicating information to appropriate personnel.
- Assist with student behavior management on transportation to and from school and when assigned to transportation duties during community-based instruction (CBI).
- Communicate with staff any necessary student information pertinent to maintaining the school’s positive teaching and behavioral environment.
- Work in the classroom with staff and students on a rotating basis to prevent crisis situations.
- Using Professional Assault Crisis Training (Pro-ACT) techniques, identify and appropriately respond to any verbal and physical containment situations as needed.
- Assist in organizing and participating in community-based outings.
- Maintain a positive and welcoming atmosphere that promotes collaboration.
- Collaborate with school or district medical personnel in the coordination of medical care protocols if necessary.
- Provide information relevant to the quarterly progress reports and reports for use in annual Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
- Perform other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma is required; Associates of Arts Degree or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Experience in classroom and / or behavior management is highly preferred.
Physical Requirements
Work is performed under normal office or classroom conditions, but there are some minimal environmental risks or disagreeable conditions associated with the work.
Employees must be physically and mentally able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodation and without being a danger to themselves or others. Must meet all Pro-ACT standards and safety requirements (light duty is not available).

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
