Overview:
POSITION SUMMARY: The Behavioral Health Patient Support Specialist works directly with program clients to facilitate client screening, schedule appointments at their preferred location, and answer client questions regarding program services. Assesses client's ability to attend appointments and assists with reducing barriers to attendance to achieve positive outcomes while they are receiving services. Responsible for rooming and facilitating telemedicine appointments, including taking vitals, documenting in Electronic Medical Record, and communication all necessary information to collaborating physicians. Responsible for developing and coordinating a volunteer peer support service. Qualifications:
Starting pay for this position is $17.05/hour.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High school diploma or GED Experience: Previous experience as a medical office assistant or related health care field Other skills/knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Licensure/Certifications: Behavioral health or trauma related certification CPR American Heart Association Experience: 1 year of experience in related position, such as providing peer education, community resource linkage, promoting participation and accountability for active engagement in programs. Examples of past experience may include work at medical office, outreach at community mental health agencies, youth centers and peer support programs Other skills/knowledge: Working knowledge of trauma, including effects of trauma, types of trauma, key elements of working with trauma Experience as a medical office assistant or CNA equivalent Experience with an electronic health record
