SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Benefits Administrator and the Chief Human Resources Officer, and according to established Firm policies and procedures, the Benefits Manager is responsible for the administration and delivery of employee benefits firm wide.

*This position is open to our Indianapolis, Atlanta or Washington, D.C. office locations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Deliver and manage the administration of firm wide employee benefits programs including self-insured medical/dental/vision plans, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, leaves, short-term disability, group long term disability; life insurance, employee assistance programs, and wellness initiatives.
2. Conduct Benefits orientation for new hires. Monitor and process all new hires in the Human Resource Information System (HRIS).
3.Draft and distribute benefits-related communications.
4. Advise and update workforce, Firm leadership, and Office Administration on current benefits for each office location.
5.Handle benefit inquiries and concerns to ensure timely, accurate, and courteous resolution.
6. Maintain contact with insurance companies, medical providers, partners, employees, and beneficiaries to facilitate proper and complete utilization of benefits.
7.Coordinate functional procedures with Payroll and HR team to initiate and maintain benefits effectively.
8. Ensure benefit elections for new hires are completed in a timely manner.
9.Audit and reconcile calculations of the monthly/quarterly premiums for all benefit plans relative to premiums, claims, and costs.
10. Address and resolve any administrative findings with benefit providers.
11. Manage maintenance of benefits and enrollment records in Firm's HRIS.
12. Develop, generate, analyze data and present reports on leaves, various plan participation, etc.
13. Working knowledge of FMLA, disability benefits, leave policies and laws; local, state, and federal.
14. Maintain all leave polices to ensure legal compliance, ensure proper distribution and integration with all other departments
15. Establish and maintain all written and verbal communication with employees on leave, ensuring timely notice and response.
16. Review, approve, and deny leave requests based on required medical information. Ensure submitted documents comply with Firm policies and the law.
17. Track and maintain employee hours/days taken and work closely with Payroll to ensure accurate pay for employees on leave and coordinate benefit premiums catch up.
18. Manage and track Retiree medical benefits and payments.
19. Organize and execute various wellness initiatives.
20. Serve as liaison with COBRA, workers compensation and transit vendors. Manage the process and appropriate paperwork with vendors.
21. Coordinate annual open enrollment planning, communication and roll out.
22. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or relevant field required, or equivalent experience.
2. Three to five years of experience in benefits administration required.
3. Law firm benefits administration experience a plus.
4. Proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, Power Point, experience with Outlook email.
5. Familiarity with Ceridian Dayforce HRIS a plus, not required.
6. Comprehension of benefits setup and on-going maintenance within an HRIS system required.
7. Comprehensive knowledge of compliance requirements (e.g. HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, etc.).
8. Familiarity with multi-state Labor & Employment laws throughout the US preferred.
9. Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
10. Strong interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate and provide information effectively with a diverse group of partners and employees.
11. Ability to and take direction from leadership, but also provide appropriate feedback and share ideas.
12. Confidentiality, courtesy, and tact required.
