Job description

The Bill Review Coder transcribes medical bills and ensures electronically imported data is accurate for bill review adjudication. The Coder manipulates bill data based on state fee schedules, usual and customary payment standards, PPO contracts, and client requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Accurately and efficiently transcribe medical bills and edit imported data

• Meet daily production quotas of transcribing and analyzing medical bills in accordance with prevailing fee schedules, usual and customary guidelines, national payment standards, and client requirements

• Effectively set system edits and triggers to drive repricing rules

• Review supporting documentation for appropriate adjudication of medical bills

• Administer client instructions and requests

• Provide repricing feedback to auditors and management

• Maintain up to date knowledge of repricing rules and regulations

Qualifications:

• Worker's Compensation bill review experience a plus.
• Experience working as a medical biller, reviewer, or coding specialist
• High School Diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent
• Proficient computer skills
• Strong data entry and ten key skills
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Outstanding organizational skills
• Self-motivated
