Job Summary:
The Billing Manager is responsible for the affairs of the Billing Department and ensuring smooth and efficient operation. This includes billing for Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Services (CDPAS), NHTD and TBI waivers, and others. Billing is done directly with Medicaid and insurance companies under Managed Long-Term Care (MLTC) Plans, or with private pay contracts. This role directly supervises the Billing Specialists (2) and provides guidance to them on a needed basis.
Billing Manager Duties:
- Ensures all bills are submitted to Medicaid and various other insurance companies.
- Ensures all front-end rejections are corrected with clearing houses in a timely and effective manner.
- Coordinates and resolves denied, discrepancies, re-billed, and billing adjustment claims timely and effectively.
- Ensures all claims are processed accurately and efficiently by using appropriate documentation, reference materials and payer websites.
- Ensures reconciliation and remits are posted timely and with accuracy.
- Ensures all Electronic Remittance Advices (ERAs) are posted timely and accurately.
- Ensuring / assisting working the A/R aging report.
- Ensure Billing specialist are retrieving referrals and special authorizations.
- Responsible for supervising, supporting, and training Billing Specialists.
- Collaborates with billing team and other departments on special projects.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or finance related field.
- At least one (01) years of medical billing experience.
- More than three (03) years of medical billing experience, preferred.
- At least two (02) years of finance related experience.
- At least two (02) years of management experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong knowledge of various payer websites and interpreting denial reasons.
- Intermediate to advance within Microsoft Excel are preferred.
- Familiarity with HSys+, Ability ease All-Payer, CARETIME and HHAeXchange are preferred.
The position is office-based and regular business hours are from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $62,000.00 per year
