Long Island Plastic Surgical Group is looking for a full-time Medical Billing Specialist to join our Garden City office.
LOCATION: Garden City/Remote. HYBRID SCHEDULE
WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE:

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or be studying for the certification exam
• College degree preferred, but not required
• 3+ plus years of medical billing experience for surgical procedures
• Must have working knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT Codes
• Knowledge of Medical Coding
• Efficient in analyzing an operative report
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task
• Basic Math Skills
• Proficient Analytical Skills
• Excellent Organizational Skills; Attention to Detail
• Exceptional Communication Skills
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude
• Must be able to work with others as a team or independently, unsupervised in a high volume, fast paced work environment.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Insurance verification for all patient encounters
• Update patient demographics and insurance information into Nextech
• Create TODO’s for claims over 10K or any Emergency Claim to ensure timely claim tracking
• Send Non-Par Letters to new patients seen by the practice (hospital or office)
• Accurately enter all charges in a timely fashion (maintain a minimum of 60 charges a day)
• Analyzing all operative reports and accurately abstract information for coding purposes
• Responsible for updating EMR and Scheduled Not Billed Report to ensure timely claim submission.
• Complete all workers compensation and no-fault forms
• Review and run charge entry reports daily for accuracy
