Primary Purpose of the BIM Technician position:

Support the BIM Coordinators in developing accurate drawings of HVAC and plumbing systems in order to support construction operations, project management and sales.

Specific Job Duties:

• Develop accurate drawings of duct work, plumbing and piping systems that support the pre-fabrication operation of piping and duct work
• Perform duties necessary to produce working drawings of in-house engineered designs and prepare system layouts and detailed drawings
• Maintain project BIM schedules
• Produce spool sheets at direction of BIM Coordinators to support both Sheet Metal & Plumbing Pipe shops.
• Work closely with Construction Operations Managers, Sales Engineers, Superintendents, Project Managers and General Contractors/CM's
• Coordinate duct and plumbing/HVAC piping systems with building components to efficiently and cost effectively identify and resolve conflict prior to installation of mechanical and plumbing systems
• Follow established safety policies and procedures in compliance and support of the company safety program

Education and Experience Requirements:

• 2+ years of sheet metal or plumbing field/shop experience a plus, willing to train right person
• Willingness and ability to learn BIM (Building Information Modeling) software programs

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to visit job/project sites to meet with company representatives to review progress and scope of work
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders to access certain areas of the job site as needed

Other Requirements:

• Punctual and regular attendance required
  
• Understanding of piping and HVAC mechanical systems
• Strong computer skills; Microsoft Office preferred; ability to learn Revit and other new software as required
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet project deadlines
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to meet and interact with people
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driver qualification policy
