This state-of-the-art Health and Wellness Center utilizes a holistic approach to wellness through a variety of offerings for the 500+ residents of Broadmead, the 300+ employees of Broadmead and older adult members from Baltimore County and other neighboring communities.

Work out before or after your shift (showers available on site).

  • Six Months experience as a Barista preferred, but not required.
  • Must possess effective communication skills that are compatible with all levels of the customers we serve.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt quickly to change.
  • Maintain a good rapport with the customers we are serving during all events.
  • General knowledge of sanitation, safety, and proper food handling procedures.
  • Must possess the ability to follow instructions, work well with others, and maintain a good rapport with residents, staff, and guests
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability of multitasking while taking orders
  • Must Detailed oriented
  • Must possess the ability to work independently, given proper training and direction
  • Must successfully complete the 16 hour HAACP course. (Broadmead will assist with this, if needed)

Health:

Good physical and mental health, producing upon hire, and as required thereafter, a satisfactory exam from a physician and a satisfactory Mantoux test or chest X-ray

Job Description:

Essential Duties:

1. Welcoming and greeting customers and efficiently determining their needs and interests

2. Explain and educate customers about different coffee products by explaining, presenting and demonstrating the operation of brewing equipment.

3. Sanitizing or cleaning utensils, work areas and equipment.

4. Serving prepared foods such as cakes, biscotti, muffins or bagels.

5. Slicing vegetables, fruits, meats or desserts for use in food service.

6. Setting up and restocking product displays.

7. Taking customer orders and conveying to other employees for preparation.

8. Maintain required records and receipts and ensure proper handling of all cash, coupons, and charge receipts by following established procedures.

9. Follows all safety and sanitation rules and regulations.

10. Responsible for serving all customers in a timely and efficient manner.

11. Responsible for stocking using the FIFO procedure.

12. Responsible for properly taking and recording temperatures.
