Job description
Requirements:
- State of Maine High Pressure Boiler Operators License is required.
Responsibilities include:
The setup, adjustment, maintenance and operation of the boilers and auxiliary equipment
Regulates oil and feed water supply. Reads meters and gauges, and records data per procedure. Sets, adjusts, tests, inspects, operates and maintains automatic equipment and manual controls
Performs minor and major maintenance and assists other Boiler Operators and Technicians with major cleaning, repairs and installation
Must be qualified to operate boilers without supervision
Able to troubleshoot, disassemble, locate and replace defective parts, and test for proper operation and to provide guidance and training to apprentices in the program. Able to order parts, maintain inventory control and work within budgetary guidelines
Work within all Company, State and Federal Laws and Regulations and be able to document accurately
Able to assist engineering in design, make modifications in existing equipment and implement those designs and modifications
May be required to use Microsoft word and excel and is required to document all procedures accurately
Is expected to maintain a clean environment and clean and functional working equipment
Able to identify materials and determine quantities required for a job
Must detect defects, imperfections, and discrepancies in equipment and materials
Have the abilituy to work closely with others, follow directions, and be able to adjust to changes in orders during the shift
Is expected to work in a safe manner to help ensure a safe work environment for themselves and co-workers
Will be required to drive industrial powered vehicles
Will be required to use tools (i.e. Knives, gauges, meters, measuring tapes, etc.)
May be required to work while wearing a respirator Must be able to do shift work, overtime, on-call and holidays
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.44 - $27.29 per hour
